About Iroko Tree Press

Iroko Tree Press is a fiction imprint of Plume of Paradise Publishing Ltd, publishing character-driven fiction for young readers. Its inaugural list is Deminius: The Origins Series, an Afroeurofantasy trilogy beginning with The Silent One.

The name comes from the iroko, a hardwood native to West Africa known for its long life and deep root system. It is a fitting namesake for a press interested in stories with strong roots, careful growth and the capacity to endure.

The namesake

Iroko is a hardwood native to West Africa, known for its longevity and deep, resilient root system.

We chose the name for what it represents: roots, strength, patience and endurance. The kind of qualities we hope to bring to the books we publish.

What we look for

A small, deliberate list

We publish few titles and edit them closely. Where a title has genuine educational potential, we develop a companion set of education resources from an early stage, so schools and libraries have real material to work with, rather than a marketing afterthought bolted onto a launch.
